Wow! Did you know this? When kids overeat sugar they are stressing their little bodies during the busiest time of growth and development. This sustained exposure to sugar leads to things like Type 2 Diabetes and Obesity, not to mention susceptibility to a variety of diseases, illnesses and cancer.

What does 32 teaspoons of sugar look like?

Lets have a looksee:

BREAKFAST
Eggo Mini Waffles, 10g
1 TBS Maple Syrup, 12g
Apple juice, 24g
= 46g/13.25 tsp

SNACK
Apple Jack’s Cereal, 12g
TruMoo, 15g
= 27g/6.75 tsp

18.25 teaspoons sugar before lunch!

LUNCH
Baked Macaroni and Cheese, 3g
Suncup fruit punch, 15g
= 18g/4.5 tsp

SNACK
Trix Yogurt, 14g/3.5tsp

26.25 teaspoons before dinner

By the way, this is a menu from my kid’s elementary school.

Controlling blood sugar is ESSENTIAL to maintaining overall health and wellness. Sustained blood sugar imbalances can lead to some pretty serious health consequences like Type 2 diabetes (completely avoidable!) and autoimmune conditions, hormone imbalances, nutritional deficiencies, and much more.
