If my kids grow up and I send them out into the world without having some basic, fundamental cooking skills, I have failed as a mom. Cooking is essential to life. It is incredibly important for your soul.
You don’t have to cook like a chef on the Food Network. Everything doesn’t have to look pretty and taste out of this world for you to be a good, decent cook. You don’t have to be an expert at cooking to prepare nourishing, real foods. Here is what you need to know about cooking:
Cooking is a necessity – everyone needs to eat!
Cooking is a privilege – not everyone can afford food. Think about that.
Cooking is a window into your soul – the foods you love say a lot about you.
Cooking is essential for a healthy life – you can’t fool mother nature. No boxed dinner will ever compare to the real thing.
Cooking is easy, fun and relaxing – it is if you make it that way.
Cooking is freedom – no one can take your cooking skills from you.
Here is what I have to say to folks who tell me they can’t cook, they don’t have time, or they don’t want to try:
1. Stop saying that.
2. Now, stop whining.
3. Make time.
4. Google it.
That’s all for today.
